All students will be given the opportunity to participate in photo shoot at the end of each year competing with other students in various categories. This is an opportunity for each student to showcase their skills and build their portfolio based on their level of experience. The students work with a creative team including make-up artist and model, to create images that can be used in their digital portfolio that will enable them to promote their skills to potential employers. This is also an invaluable exercise in creative collaboration and learning the unique skills required to work in the high pressure, yet exciting world of session styling

At Toni & Guy Melbourne School of Hairdressing, we offer our qualification both as Apprenticeship and Non-apprenticeship.

An apprenticeship is a structured training arrangement. It is a learning pathway that combines paid on-the-job training and formal study with a Registered Training Organisation. It’s a great way to gain a nationally recognised qualification while earning a wage rather than having to choose one over the other!

You can begin this apprenticeship while you are still at school, just out of school, or later in life and will be required to enter into a training contract with your employer.

At TONI&GUY Melbourne School of Hairdressing, we create personalised Training Plans for each of our Apprentices where we incorporate learning that is specific to your workplace. We blend your learning and assessment between attending workshops in our South Melbourne campus and structured training in the workplace. We take what you’re already good at and make you even better.

This nationally recognised qualification can take between two to three years to complete but may be completed earlier within our flexible learning environment.

On Campus (Non-Apprenticeship) delivery enables you to gain a full qualification in 12 – 15 months, plus an optional internship with a TONI&GUY Salon. Learners will be required to attend structured Workshop Sessions at TONI&GUY Melbourne School of Hairdressing South Melbourne Campus. A Learner can choose to engage either full-time or part-time to complete the course in this delivery mode.
